~Water~

[I composed this post several months ago, and just got around to posting it.  Enjoy!]

Lately, water has been brought to my attention.  Lydia is doing an essay on it, and as I was looking through some of our pictures of water yesterday, I thought it would be fun to post some.  Water quenches thirst, helps things grow, and is very fun and beautiful to photograph!  Thank God for water!

Christmas Cookies!

Hello Girls!  How are your Christmas prererations coming?  (Hopefully good!  Christmas is tomorrow!)  At our house, we have been busy.  We recently made cookies.  They were arranged on trays, and we added tracts, tea, and candies.  I hope our neighbors and friends enjoy them as much as we enjoyed making them!
Rolled cookies with white chocolate and cherries!

My two favorite ingredients--vanilla and butter.  Yum!

*My sweet little helper*

May you have a Merry Christmas celebrating our Saviours birth!  And as you open gifts--remember the greatest gift of all!

Guess what?

We have a new little sister!  She weighed 9lb. 8oz. and was born yesterday a 6:18am.  Her name is Mirae Hope, which means "Blessed Hope."  We are all really excited!

The four girls....

Grant and Mirae get to share birthdays!
It is funny, Mirae was due on Lance's birthday, but was born eleven days late, on Grant's birthday!

A Trip With Grandma

On Monday Lydia and I went with Grandma to a dentist appointment.  It was a long way away, and we had just had our first big snowstorm the night before, so we had to go pretty slow.  (Two hours to get to our destination!)  But the sun was bright, the snow sparkly, and Lydia and I took some pictures out the window.  Enjoy!

It was the type of day that made everything--even power lines and radio and cell towers look pretty!

Here is a barn that I liked...same picture, just different edits.

I love how this picture has the green and red on the more subtle landscape!

Isn't God's creation beautiful?

Challenge!

Annie is hosting a Sugar-Free challenge!  It has already started, but I was too busy to post before.  I love this idea...  It is great to have accountability for something like this!

So far (Sunday and some of today), I've done pretty well.  I haven't had any desserts/treats/etc., but I did drink some lemonade yesterday.  Does that count?

Photoshoot!

Lydia and I had a very fun photo shoot a week or so ago.  We did it in our backyard, and I really like the results!

It was an absolute gorgeous day, and there were plenty of God's creatures to keep us company!  Squirrels, turtles, Canadian geese, and various ducks and song birds were all to be seen.

Hello Girls!

This is just a quick post to say that I'm still alive out here, even though I'm nearly lost in a sea of back-to-school activities, etc. Right now we have a witnessing expedition planned for Monday, I'm getting ready to teach an Irish Step Dancing class, we have musical practice (we're doing Brigadoon and the boys AristoCats!), we have a ministry performance on Saturday, along with a going-away party for our cousin (she is an army nurse and is leaving for duty), Grant has baseball, and I have a Bright Lights meeting to prepare.

Not to mention all the regular school work that goes with starting school. :~)

P.S.  Please pray that the witnessing trip, class I'm teaching, and the performance Sat. go well!

Summer Storms

In the midst of our summer heat, we have had a few refreshing (if somewhat damaging) storms. :-)

And after a storm, you can take fun pictures!

Lydia, don't you think you should come in out of the wind?

I like taking pictures of flowers in the morning when they have dew on them, or after a storm.

Bright Lights

Our Bright Lights group has been meeting over the summer, and we have had lots of fun!  Finishing set 5 two meetings ago, we are now getting ready for a Gratefulness Banquet.  The girls have prepared a couple songs in sign language, and memorized Psalm 23.  Pray that it goes well!!

Here are some pictures (taken by Lydia) of our last meeting:

Small group discussion--we were writing speeches for the banquet.

Maria is always smiling.  She made the exciting announcement at the meeting that her mom is expecting another baby!
