Our Fourth of July Vacation! Part 4

Make sure to read parts 1,2, & 3 first!

When we came back from Maranatha, we cleaned up the house. After a little while, Uncle Garret and Aunt Becky got home. After some talking, we bid goodbye, and left for home.

They will be celebrating there 26 wedding anniversary soon!

We were just arriving home when the fireworks were starting. We all begged Dad to take us to see them, (even though we just had an hour and a half drive and a tiring vacation).

The pictures didn't turn out the best, because all the street lights washed them out, and my battery was weak.

The moon was magnificent!

Our Fourth of July Vacation! Part 3

Read Parts 1 and 2 first

On the Fourth, we practiced our free speech rights. When we drove over to the dunes at Maranatha, there was a large cross on the dune right in front of the parking lot. Lydia and I both said, "Let's put Jesus Saves!"

It was clearly seen from the parking lot. We are praying that many would see it and think of Jesus!

We walked across the dunes, to the beach. Lydia, Grant and Vince all went in the water. I put my feet in, but it felt too icy for me!

Lydia was freezing after getting wet, but didn't want to get sandy, so she chose the asphalt!

A helicopter flew over us, and when we waved to him, he swooped down and 'waved' with the helicopter!

Our Fourth of July Vacation! Part 2

Read Part 1 first!

On Friday, we spent the day at Pier Marquette light house and beach.

We went to watch the sunset, but decided to go and get ice cream before it actually set.

Because of the sun behind them, they are only silhouettes.

Vince discovered these flowers, and because he knows I like to take pictures of flowers, ran and told me.

"Hurry up, Haley, this grass is prickery!"

Everything is so pretty!

We went to the end of the pier, and Lydia dared Grant to hang his legs off. It is a lot farther down than it looks!

Vince is the only one who really went in the water. It was freezing (both the water, and the air)!

Although the day started cloudy, the sun decided to shine for us later in the day.

When we got back, some friends of our aunt and uncle came over to check on the garden. We had fun playing with Anthony and Cierra.

Anthony liked holding Anthony (the rabbit).

Our Fourth of July Vacation! Part 1

We had a great vacation! On Thursday, we drove out to our uncle and aunt's house in Muskegon. They went to Missouri to visit their children (our cousins) and offered to let us stay in their house while they were gone.

The first day we were there, we went to the channel and Dad and the boys fished. Lydia and I ran around with Annie (the Orlando's dog we were dog-sitting) and had some fun taking pictures. While we didn't go into the naval museum, we saw the submarine, coast guard cutter and the other outside things.

The Silversides--this is the submarine that they have there. It is actually a national monument.

"Oh, why won't they just let me jump in?"

While we were fishing, a large freighter came through.

Lots of little ducklings!

Here you can see how large the boat was. To see it maneuvere through the channel was interesting! The depth chart on the side said it was 26 feet under the water!
